The Shibusawa Eiichi Memorial Foundation has been working on the English translation of content summaries from the Shibusawa Eiichi denki shiryo (Shibusawa Eiichi Biographical Materials). On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, English translations of the content summaries from the first three volumes of the Denki shiryo has been made available on the Foundation's website.

The Denki shiryo is divided by industry and business, with the content summaries, brief outlines of specific events, in chronological order. They thus provide an overview of Shibusawa Eiichi's involvement in various projects. The English translation of the content summaries was undertaken in response to increasing interest in Shibusawa Eiichi from those outside of Japan.
The new website is still a beta version and the English translations provided are subject to change. We hope they will be of interest.
公益財団法人渋沢栄一記念財団では『渋沢栄一伝記資料』本編の綱文を英訳するプロジェクトを進めて参りましたが、2020年3月31日（火）、第1巻から第3巻までの英訳綱文を公開いたしました。

「綱文」とは当該事項の要旨をまとめて書き起こしたもので、『伝記資料』本編には事業や事項ごとに綱文が年月日順で掲載されています。これらをたどることで、渋沢栄一がそれぞれの事業にどのように関与したか、その概要を知ることができます。今回の英訳は、海外における渋沢栄一への関心の高まりに応えるために作成されました。
なお、今回公開する英訳綱文は「ベータ版」という位置づけで、今後、内容が修正される可能性があります。ご活用いただければ幸いです。
